The Dressed Nervous System

Live · seven rooms, fifty claim records

Clothing and the nervous system is a subject that rewards a confident sentence and punishes a careful one. The striking findings — that a garment measurably changes how you think — are the ones that travelled furthest and replicated worst, and popular writing repeats them in the same voice it uses for the settled material.

LiveLive · seven rooms, fifty claim records

The problem. Clothing and the nervous system is a subject that rewards a confident sentence and punishes a careful one. The striking findings — that a garment measurably changes how you think — are the ones that travelled furthest and replicated worst, and popular writing repeats them in the same voice it uses for the settled material.

What it does. Separates the compelling experience from the evidence across seven installed rooms, one per question: what clothing does as pressure, texture, memory, rhythm, role and social signal. Fifty claim records each name the measure, the source, the evidence status, and the conclusion the finding cannot carry.

Built on. Twenty-two traceable Open Access objects from public collections, embedded under their own terms with canonical records and download links. No AI imagery anywhere in the exhibition.

What it does not establish. A claim record states what a study measured, not what it proved. Several rooms rest on narrow experiments that have not replicated, and the rooms say so rather than dropping them.

This record is generated from the same inventory as the complete build index: the production URL was checked at the last regeneration, and the status line above repeats what the build reports about itself rather than restating an intention.
